Here's a couple of my thoughts on fear. Fear seems to indicate a deficit or lack of some element.

1) Fear might indicate a lack of skill or means to cope with a given situation. Just the other day, my family and I were talking about a fire plan for our house. Where do we go? Who do we call? Etc. My oldest daughter is very afraid of a house fire. But equipping her with both a plan and (part 2) some information about how many house fires actually happen, how to prevent them, etc. allayed many of her fears. She felt she had some skill to cope should that event come to pass.

2) Fear likely also indicates a lack of knowledge. Assumptions and stereotypes breed fear. Inaccurate data can spawn fear. Lack of information can lead to fear. Perfect example. Between two local youth organizations in our city, there's a great deal of fear on the part of one because they believe the other is "recruiting" kids to an ignoble set of values. Seeing both sides objectively, it's abundantly clear that one group fears what they THINK the other group is about. This fear will be dispelled through understanding, communication and accurate information. IN FACT, the two groups could be POWERFUL allies.

3) Finally, fear may well stem from a lack of assurance, confidence or faith in the truly significant things in life. I can enter virtually any situation with this is as my creed: "Nothing to hide, nothing to prove, nothing to lose." and literally FEEL NO FEAR. Fear isn't even in my consciousness. It's not there. It's been replaced. And, I echo Mike here, that fear NEEDS to be replaced by love.

Cool huh?

Michael, I must say your book is GREAT so far! I had read "Power Versus Force" as well and was just blown away at some of the things Hawkins talks about, your book echos the same message. I began using muscle testing on all kinds of things, even things like CD / DVD's, types of food I was comsuming etc. I could not believe how many things carry low frequency energy that I was allowing into my life on a daily basis. Once you become really aware of your thoughts, words, actions, and environment you end up becoming very careful about what you do and do not put your attention upon. You begin to realize that EVERYTHING contributes to your overall well being wether you feel its trivial or not.
