The movie “The Men Who Stare at Goats”
My wife and I saw the movie “The Men Who Stare at Goats” this weekend and thought it was an excellent movie.
I was really looking forward to seeing this movie as it seemed to highlight some of the things I talk about in The Intuitive Warrior. I had heard over the years of a military group that was doing remote viewing and this movie focused on that. It is reputed to be based off of a real group of soldiers that were selected and trained to hone their extrasensory skills through meditation and visualization. The movie is set up as a comedy and does have lots of laughs for a story line that might otherwise be a little much for the average public. Take any true story that is not part of the accepted realm of current thought and make it a comedy or a fictional story based on fact and you get a more palatable story for the general public.
At first I thought they were going to make this a totally negative slant on intuitive warrior abilities so I was a little skeptical in the beginning of the movie. As the characters developed you could see where they were trying to poke fun at the egoic side of man. The main character played by George Clooney would make mistakes that were hilarious as he wrestled with deciding wether to follow his intuition or his logical mind. The ending of the movie was fantastic and my wife and I stood up cheering. Overall a must see that is fun, educational and motivating.
I believe after over thirty years in service to my country under arms that an introduction to intuitive awareness in all service members at the basic level would be hugely beneficial. Just a simple class or two in recognizing intuitive promptings in self and others could possibly save hundreds of lives a year in combat situations and training accidents. Those that had a proclivity towards intuitive knowledge or awareness could get further training that would be specific to developing this gift that all humanity possesses. This further education could be as simple as meditation techniques and visualization exercises.
I was fortunate to be a Navy SEAL for 24 years because almost all of our advanced training puts you into a state of consciousness that taps the creative right side of the brain. As Intuitive warriors our military would be less likely to be surprised in combat situations and would make decisions that would lead to better mission success.
One thing that was brought out in the movie and something I experienced for myself in Iraq is that if you use your intuitive gifts for negativity you will have a severe backlash. For instance the character played by George Clooney used his mind to kill a goat. After this event the group fell on hard times and disbanded. Clooney later rationalized that this was the case and they had to redeem themselves. I also tried to use my intuitive powers to hunt out who was causing all the terrorist attacks in the early days of the uprising in Iraq. I clearly saw a vision of Al-Zarqawi two years before a anyone knew that he was the leader of al-Qaida in Iraq. I tried to use my remote viewing abilities to try and influence him. To try to negate his abilities by force through thought. I had a vision of a very negative entity come into my vision after several days of trying to influence this person whom I didn’t know the name of at the time but could clearly see that he was in charge of causing great suffering. I recoiled my thoughts immediately and within a few days had an event where I saw my life taken in a rocket attack. I discuss this event in my book. My lesson was that the dark side has it’s agenda as we have ours. In a three dimensional dualistic world you are going to be faced constantly with these options. The only option to choose if you are of the light is to always choose the light and not try and fight evil with more evil. I am not naive to think that the world is going to change overnight (although it can) but the thoughts that we think can make a difference now. The thoughts of love within ourselves and the thoughts of love for others can have an incredible effect as is scientifically proven by the Maharishi Effect. Sending the thought of love into a situation is like turning on the light in a room that is pitch black. The light or thought of love can cancel out darkness as I’ve experienced repeatedly over the last 6 years in combat zones. You that are reading this now try it. Send the thought of love to heal someone, dissipate the energy of a storm out at sea before it makes landfall or send it to an area that is full of strife or war torn. We are all capable of miracles if we connect with the essence of all that is: Love!
